Lecture 1
The lecturer is given a brief introduction to this subject and the module outline. The lecturer showed some examples that done by previous semester students.

Lecture 3
no lecture (public holiday)
Lecture 4
no lecture (public holiday)
Lecture 5
no lecture. Lecturer gave time to work with the project proposal at that time
Lecture 6
Consultation about our project proposal.
Tutorial 1
The lecturer taught us how to make a simple Augmented reality. Firstly, should register to Vuforia. and make a database and download it. after that should install Vuforia on our unity. and change it to AR. after that showed some process to make AR.
Tutorial 2
We had a chance to get the experience of VR and it was fun. I tried 2 games. One was Beat saber. It is a 2018 virtual reality rhythm game created by Czech-based indie studio Hyperbolic Magnetism in which the player slashes blocks representing musical beats with a pair of energy blades resembling lightsabers.
The second one was Richie Plank Experience. This is not a game however, it is giving a virtual experience of high places. I felt this was real but fun.
Tutorial 3
No lecture (public holiday)
Tutorial 4
We had the consultation to share our ideas. I had 2 ideas and he accepted one only. However, the other one was he said to improve more.
Tutorial 5
The lecturer taught us how to create a scanner in unity and scanner appear before the design scan and disappear after take away the design.

Project
Idea development
For the final project, I came up with 3 ideas.
1. movie poster scanner-
scan the movie poster and the trailer appears and working
2.kids colouring app-
The picture appears when scanning the kids colouring book.
3. Flashcards
I have decided to make a writing app for kids. I am giving a bunch of pictures (like flashcards) and, they can see the word relating to the picture and can hear how to pronounce when the kid scanned it. Moreover, they can learn how to write letters or a word using this augmented reality app.
PROBLEM STATEMENT
- Nowadays, kids use technology since they are young.
- So far, there is no writing AR app for kids. Teach only reading, and hear the words (pronunciation)
AIMES/GOALS
- To teach language in an effective way using AR technology- the human brain can memorize through see 5%, hear 10%, and 85% do. This app is helping to pronounce the word, see the word and learn how to write. (reference- https://youtu.be/2FA-IuDTMjE )
RESEARCH
Through the research, physical class, most of the time teachers are facing difficulties when they teach a language. Such as students become overly dependent on the teacher. This means students automatically look at the teacher for the correct answer instead they try by themselves. Persistence use of the first language. Can distract to the lesson and waste time in the class. Not focus on the lesson. Students feel bored, inattentive or low motivation.
Moreover, if kids can have fun and study, then they would memorize lessons easily.
Observation of existing app
App name: Learning games and flashcards for kids
What is it- this app is for learning new words through cards, with sounds. And mainly focus on kids listening and might be speaking ability.
Styles of the app
- Colourful and attractive logo
- Easy to remember sounds
- Can test the kid's knowledge
Weaknesses of this app
- Pictures are boring
- Should purchase to access other lessons
- The background music is interrupting to the sounds
- The sound is only available for animals and birds category only
- No writing skill
- Only the word pronouncing no letter one by one pronouncing
- The navigation icons are boring
TARGET AUDIENCE/ USERS
Kids (5- 8years)
parents( to guide how to use the app)

PROPOSAL SOLUTIONS
SOLUTION
- Give physical flashcards to scan.
- Study and fun in one time. Kids learn how to pronounce the word as well as writing.
- Add interesting icons and pictures for the flashcards and the app.
- Adding pronunciation of letters one by one
- Adding sound appropriate way without distracting to the voice over
VISUALS
Sketches of how the app the works.
Mockup
This is just a simple mockup I am looking for.
CREATIVE DIRECTIONS
THEME/ COLOURS
I have decided to use colourful and light colours for this app.
TYPOGRAPHY
For the typography, I have decided to use these fonts.
ICONOGRAPHY
I’m thinking to make customize icons similar like this and suitable for kids.
MOODBOARDS
REFERENCES
For the reference, I was looking for how the AR works for kids. So far, I could not find an app or example of AR writing app so I looked at colouring app to get an idea. The picture can see real after colour through the AR app. From these references, my app is going to teach writing instead of looking at the character and colouring the pictures.

The cards
The cards
I wanted to make the text background transparent. and from my research, it can create using .mov videos. However, it didn't work in my unity. Moreover, I asked from the lecturer to do this but it didnt work as well.
Final
Feedback
The lecturer taught me how to create the text background transparent.
Observation
I found out this assignmetn is pretty mch easier than gam design even though used unity. However, I stucked to create the text background tranparent and i gave up at the end.
